Abstract

Daily energy requirement of roach larvae in various developmental stages were calculated according to the bioenergetic model. Metabolic level and amount of excreted faeces were measured experimentally. Daily energy requirement of roach larvae was related to fish age and ranged from 3.67 to 5.36 J ⋅ ind.-1. Over 80% of energy was used by the fish for the metabolic processes and activity.
