Diel cycle of pike (Esox lucius L.) larvae feeding in conditions of pond rearing. An attempt of estimation of daily food rations

Abstract

The variability in food composition of pike larvae in the diel feeding cycle is presented with respect to share of prey by its numbers and weight. The feeding selectivity is characterized. The daily food ration for larvae having the average individual weight 36.8 mg, was estimated; in the conditions of pond rearing it amounted to 8.1% of the larva weight.
