Abstract
The aim of the study was to ascertain the food interactions between the brown trout, Carpathian sculpin and huchen fingerlings under conditions of a mountain stream. In the first year of its life the huchen occupies different microhabitats and does not compete with the native ichthyofauna. Unlike autochthonous species, it consumes mainly smaller components of macrobenthos and imago forms of the Chironomidae.
