Characteristics of chub (Leuciscus cephalus L.) fry in heated Konin lakes

Abstract

Basing on the materials collected in 1971 - 1992 an analysis was carried out of the frequency distribution and growth rate of chub fry in the heated lakes of Konin complex. Presence of a typical riverine species in these lakes was interpreted as an index of environmental changes. It was found that chub spawned in batches but growth of particular cohorts of the same year-class was similar.
