Abstract

The aim of the paper was to compare size of sea trout eggs from 7 Polish rivers. Length of females varied from 39 to 91 cm. The biggest females were in the Vistula River and the smallest in the Grabowa River, average lenths were 69.9 cm and 60.2 cm respectively. Egg size was correlated with length of the females. There were some differences of egg size among sea trout populations. Egg size from any single river was not bigger in comparison to other populations.
