Abstract
Sanitary and bacteriological water quality in wastewater supplied ponds and quality of flesh of carps reared in the ponds can be improved by a cut-off of sewage supply for 5-7 weeks before fish harvest. Further cleaning of carp for 14 days in running river water of I class of purity causes elimination of most indicatory bacteria. Final product is a good quality fish meat, bacteriologically and sanitary safe for human consumption.
