Introduction to a fully automatic fish ageing with the use of scale ring classification

Abstract

A procedure has been developed of fish ageing from scales. The procedure is composed of a few phases: classification of scale rings' appearance, division of a ring set into notion subsets (annual and accessory rings), analysis of the subset of doubtful rings, and veryfying analysis. All phases have been presented as a net of relations which represent an algorithm for the programming specialist. The whole procedure has its roots in the experience gained while looking for the criteria of identyfying annual rings in fish of known age.
